I have a 93 Nissan Pathfinder that has some sort of premium sound system. The head unit has been replaced, but the speakers are factory. The mounting locations are in the front doors with a tweeter in the winsheild post. The rear speakers are in the roof and have spot for a tweeter also. I believe some one installed the head unit behind a factory amp system because when the loudness button is pushed the volume shoots way up and clipping and distortion occur and their is not much leeway between low and extremely loud.   Is any one familiar with this system, or does anyone know of a link to information for this vehicle?

Thanks in advance.

I just installed a system in one last week. There is a factory amp mounted behind the head unit in the dash, it is a round Clarion unit,I bypassed that to get the rear speakers to work and ran new wires to the front kick panels to ty in with the front speakers (so the tweeters and door speakers work) Along with a PIONEER 50 X 4 HEAD unit and it all works a treat. Hope this helps.
