sorry if i keep repeating myself but i'm trying to decide if i should keep my 2 12" MTX 6000 subs or sell them and buy one nice 12" like Eclipse Aluminum (if i did this then i would sell my alpine mrp-350 as well and upgrade the amp). Would the one eclipse sound better (sq and spl) than the 2 mtx models. Thanks guys. they will be going in a 02 is 300

if you upgrade to the aluminum you should definately hear the difference. from what i can find of the 6000 right now the alum will have a little over 3 times the excursion of the mtx. so if you a single 12" alum should be about as loud as 3 6000......somebody correct me if im off here.

The Alum might have better sq but I doubt that it would blow out 3 MTX 6000's. Subs move air, air is moved by the cone. When a sub has a greater x-max it moves more air in a single direction thus making it louder and deeper.

ok i've decided to do the upgrade, now...best place to sell my old stuff (other than the buy/sell forum on here)? and does anyone know an eclipse dealer in western Massachusetts or northern CT. most dealers around here carry RF and JL. thanks again for the guidance
