I am new to this forum as well as to stereo instillation. i have upgraded the stereo in my offshore to the following a kenwood kac-8401 640 w amp, running 4 pioneeer rav 6x9 speakers in 4 channel mode, and a kac-8151d 1000 w mono amp running 2 pionner 10 inch ts-1500 pioneer subs in 2 ohm format  all connected to a clarion m5675 marine cd unit. i am running 4 clarion 100 w clarion marine speakers off of the cd unit amp in the cabin, and have used the two rca outs of the cd unit, 1 going to the sub amp, the other to the speaker amp. i have run power(4 ga) from one of the batteries through a fuse block, to each amp(8ga). i have ground both amps(8ga) directly to the same battery. problem: when using the trim button(what lowers the outdrive into the water) i am getting a popping sound from all speakers. i am picking up some type of interference. i do not get this sound when using any other electrical object on the boat however. is this a ground problem? how can i fix this? sorry for the length of this post....

Could be a grounding problem... if the popping comes from all the speakers maybe your head unit power or ground is connected to the same location as the trim motor.  Or since it only happens with that one piece of equipment you could have your RCA cables running alongside the power cable for the trim motor and you are getting induced noise - but this would not affect the speakers being driven directly off the head unit.
