I was just reading about diode isolating, and I just wanted to make sure I've got it right.

So if you have a car  with several negative door triggers, you need to diode isolate each one right?

It also says this is in GM vehicles a lot of times, could it be in any car.  I have a '97 civic and it didn't need to be dioed isolated, but I've got a friend with a 2001 civic who says his needed to be.  I kinda got ahead of myself and said no it didn't, cause its a civic.

Does a 2001 civic need to be diode isolated?

The drivers door trigger is green, front passenger door trigger is lt. GREEN/ red, and the rear door trigger is GREEN / WHITE.
3 triggers on the 01, so yes it needs to be diode isolated.

your old civic had only one wire for all of the doors, so no diodes were needed.

the new style of civic is as jworm describes it.

i believe that is for false triggering when car checks to see if doors were left open...dome-light supervision i think..it would make alarm think door was open when signal is sent...these diodes prevent that signal from back feeding into the alarm...thus preventing false triggering of alarm...at least this is what i was taught ...any other info...?

not on the civic but other vehicles that have a 'car model' on the dash that show which door is open, if you tie them all together it wil show all doors as being open when maybe only one is.  They would definately need a diod in this case.
