I'm looking for a SQ sub that can output 500-600 watts rms approximately, to be used in a sealed enclosure. After looking around a bit the two I like the most are the Oz Audio Matrix Elite 12" and the Soundstream Van Gogh 12". They're similar in design and specs; the Matrix take up to 500 wrms and the Van Gogh 600 wrms. Price wise both can be bought for slightly less than $200.

What do you people think? Which would be better for a SQ application? I have also considered a Focal 33K sub (a bit pricy at $450, but only takes up to 400 wrms), and CDT HD1220 12" (also 600 wrms, cost is almost $200). My budget is $200 to $400 aprox. for the sub. This sub will complement either a set of 3 way focals polykev powers or 3 way cdt eurosports. If there are any other SQ subs in that price rage that can output aprox 500-600 wrms please do tell! Thanx for your opinions.

Are you going to decide sub first, then amp?  Or is the amp chosen, and what did you select?
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Good, now most people wil know what I will suggest. A Eclipse aluminum 12" SW8122DVC (500w rms) or if more output is desired, the big brother Titanium SW9122 (750w rms). Both work in sealed boxes, both have devastating sq, both can spank some nasty SPL levels if called upon.

Eclipse is not available on line, this is why you are having a hard time finding them. If you do find them online they have no warranty at all. Buy them from a authorized dealer. It may take some phone calls but you will locate one.

Between the Oz and the Soundstream, I prefer the Oz.  An Eclipse will cost you a bit more but yes, it is better than either of your choices.
