just wondering if you can hook up a switched wire from the batterys negitive to the amps remote and not hook up the remote from the deck?
and is the ignition wire on the deck working like the negitave power in the positive negitive thing?

You can hook up the amp remote to a 12 volt positive source, constant or switched, if you are installing a switch.  Test wires under dash with key on and off for 12 volts.  If you use a switched source, the amp will come on with the key on in ignition.  I believe the ignition wire from the deck is connected to 12 volt positive constant.  The deck is grounded to the chassis for all negative return.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
