Will a remote starter void the warranty?

If I install a remote starter/alarm on a 2004 GMC Sierra will that void the factory warranty? My best friend just bought his new truck yesterday. He doesnt even have 100 miles on it yet and he's ready for remote start, but he's worried that it might void his warranty. Thats his main concern, beacause he doesnt wanna get screwed if something happens to break on his new 40 thousand dollar truck.

Unless they can prove that it was the remote start that caused the damage. For example, lets say you do put the alarm/remote start in. Then down the road a fuel injector goes out. It would still be covered because nothing that you did caused it's failure. Now lets say you do the install and later it won't start and they find that the alarm caused the problems, then they will be charging the regular hourly rate. Or lets say you put a turbo on it and end up blowing a cylinder, of course that won't be covered. But what it comes down to is, if the alarm isn't the problem, then yes, it will still be covered under warranty.    Will              Just my $00.02

Here is an example that just happend with a friends Ford Exploder. 2003 with about 19000mi. His wife took it in for a tuneup at some Jiffy Lube or something. He put the wrong plugs in, and put cheap wires in. After about 5 weeks, the check engine light comes on, starts having drivability problems, etc. Takes it to the dealer to have it checked out under warranty. The dealer charges him $90 to put the Ford plugs and wires on. Problem solved, hasn't had a problem from that point on. So good example, you cause a problem, you get charged.Will              Just my $00.02
