I am not a Pioneer dealer and need some install info. We just had a rats nest pull into our bay. While the installer tried his utmost to make heads and tails of this mess, it has now boggled him and we have no wiring diagrams. DVD works fine - Screen powers up -no picture. There is a hideaway module under the pass seat in his VW GTI.

DVD model# DVHP7000

Screen model# AVXP7000CD

Hideaway model# AVMP9000R

The dvd is used to power the front  / rear speakers. Although the hideaway module has a built in amp, it is not used, nor is the cd transport in the screen. Any help is appreciated.

Well guys, the problem is a burned out power supply lead inside of the hideaway module. It supplies +5v dc to the dvd dcreen. You should have seem the spaghetti wiring job that was done on this car. Do you think that it had something to do with the problem, can you say yes definitely. The module was mounted on the floor under the passenger seat with the spaghetti wiring wound up inloose balls to catch your unsuspecting feet on and rip them out of the board. The video rca cable had actually been bent in half and shorted out. Blew the 2 amp fuse on that circuit internally on the board.Yep a self installed system working at it's best.

But Rob, I'll bet when the owner first hooked it up it was LOUD!  Pioneer dvd screen info -- posted image.

Good job.  Be sure to charge the full shop rate for your time fixing this mess!

Bwahahahahaha, just noticed the posts from thapimp and Alpine guy, hahaha, damn I'm almost crying, you have no idea. Thanks guys, don't know why it's so funny this afternoon, just finished reading the post where aflaten, afartmaster, whatever his name was got own3d. And I'm laughing at how the posts read, not the question that was asked by jeremyjerm, he asked something that could have easily been overlooked and actually was a great question to ask.
