I just got a Phoenix Gold XS84 8" 4-ohm woofer that I plan on using for a mid-bass. I'm not sure on how to build my crossover though. I had planned on having a bandpass filter between 100Hz and 250Hz. Does this sound about right? I used the narrow band pass filter calculator on this site and got values of 4.2mHy for the coil and 237.7microfarads for the capacitor. Do these valure sound right for a 1st order filter? Should I even be using a 1st order or a different one. Also where is the best place to buy the parts? Thanks in advance for any help!!

Those values souns about right. There are some very good crossover building tutorials and some good quality parts available at Parts Express.

if you've got a few bucks to spare, check out crutchfield, they've got some nice plug-in type filters, high pass and low pass in various frequencies.
