ok.. i think i know how to set gains.. you turn the head unit volume about 80% or so then turn up the gain on the amps until you hear distortion.. ok but i keep turning and i do'nt hear distortion!! or i don't know how to hear it but i'm sure i know how since i heard distortion b4 when i DID NOT have an amp....

also is it true you are NOT suppose to turn the gain passed halfway no matter what?

i seriously don't hear any distortion and my gain was going near the MAX

and how can you hear a subwoofer distort?

When I set my amp up. I had the deck volume half-way with the amp. gain full, then reduce gain till distortion subsided. Then I adjusted the HZ to my level.
your amp should generally be no more than 65-70% of the gain. It also depends on the features on your amp and especially the quality.
(mono, high pass, filter, low(sub),flat, phase) what does it have.
