Hey all, I have an add-on Crimestopper RS901 remote start going to my Crimeguard alarm on a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee without the transponder key system. I am using the second channel - output to trigger the remote start. When I trigger the second channel, the remote start does nothing. I picked up the remote start for next to nothing off of Ebay, and the seller is no longer a registered user when I tried to contact them about warranty, so can I test my - output by putting my ground lead of my dmm to the wire, and the + lead to 12v+ and look for a reading when the second channel is activated to rule out the alarm brain? All connections have been soldered, and checked via a dmm. Thanks!!

One way to test the output is to hook it up to an extra relay if you have one to see if it triggers the relay.

Exactly, or a test light clipped to the wire and the other end to +12 volts.
Or to test the add-on starter, just touch the negative start activation wire to chassis ground for a moment to see if it triggers.
