I am wondering if i can use the clifford smart windows module with my alpine 8028? i like the ability to roll up, down, stop, AND vent the windows with one unit.

i dont us ethose brands, but most parts can be interchanged...depends on the wiring...
if you unit will has the right output to powewr the window unit, it should work.....and if it doesnt, then you can use a relay to make it work....what is the wiring needed for the window unit????
Good Luck

not sure about the wiring. i just saw it on thier web site, and thought it would be a little nicer to have than a regular window unit.

If you have an extra channel on your alarm that you are not using and a ground when armed coming off the alarm then you are fine. All of the Alpine alarms I've done have had them.

Well, i do have the ext output and the ground when armed. But im wondering now, what type of signal does it need? i only have 1 sec, latched, or continuous. can i still use all the features of the smartwindows?

the intellistart 4 can only be used with a clifford g4 or g5 brain. it unfortunately lacks a conventional external trigger-on wire and can only be triggered by the clifford data-port wire which doesn't use regular 12vdc. depending on which generation of smartwindows, you may also run into the same problem. some of the clifford g4 generation accessories were designed to work only with clifford g4 brains. to save yourself some time and heartache it'd be wiser to choose a different brand such as dei or anything else.
good luck!

so would i be able to just a couple of the 530t's for the windows and a 551t for the r/s? i also want to control the back window and the sunroof (all this on a 93 4runner), but would i need something different for these?

The SmartWindows 4 will not work as it also uses the data port. The Clifford SmartWindows II is an awesome unit and has all the features of the SW4 (it's just not as easy to program(not that it's hard)) and will work with your Alpine. You can find the on eBay regularly.
