I have all of the specs for the box, I just don't no what the heck it means. Im going to HOme Depot to get the MDF cut there.

Im making two seperate ported enclosures. How big should I tell them to cut each piece?

Specs for ported Enclosure:

Gross Volume: 3.25 cu. ft.

Net Volume: 2.85 cu. ft.

Is this a big box? I have no clue how to interpret that into How long and how wide. Do I have to get each piece an extra inch longer because of the thickness? lol. Please help. I need measurements. There is obviously going to be four pieces per box so I need some measurements like "2 6"x 12" pieces of MDF and 2 3"x10 pieces of MDF" you no? Obviously those aren't even possible for an enclosure.

I went to this shop and they said $400 dollars for two ported boxes. I said "thats insane" and left lol.

Head Unit:Pioneer-Deh-1600

Fronts:Kicker 6x8 S57's

Front Amp:Coustic PowerLogic Amp460

Rear Fill:Stock 6x8's

Subs: 2 10" JL Audio W3's

Sub Amp: JBL bp600.1

what are the subs? also just a heads up home depots usually only "guarantee" their cuts to within a 1/4" i believe it is.

cheagreen, a little more info would be helpful, as in, what type of vehicle this is going in, if a car, measurements of the trunk/opening, be sure to allow for trunk bars if applicable, and if a truck, measurements of available space.

A speaker enclosure can be approached in many ways and can be fabricated to meet your needs, it doesn't have to be a exact demension one way or the other as long as your air space requirements are met. it would be a shame if someone gave you measurements for a box and it wouldn't fit your vehicle, wouldn't it??

Just post up a little more specific info and i'm sure we will be able to guide you in the right direction.Also try this, a rule of thumb for airspace, take L X W X H / 1728 = gross volume
