I know that twisting wires is not the best  way to make connections, but I don't solder too good.  I make my connections by doing a twist, then looping that twist around itself and giving it a few good tugs before I wrap it.  I haven't had a problem yet, but I would like to learn to solder.  Is it like soldering copper pipe,  clean it, flux it, heat the joint and then touch the solder to the joint and let the solder suck into the joint.  Also what type of solder do you use?

Basically, yes.  But rather than repeat what has already been written so well, refer to this thread on the General forum.  Cheers!
