I'm looking for the audio wiring schematics for a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab.  I've seen some posted on other sites, but they are incorrect.

I've only checked one speaker so far and found that the Right Front is:

+ GREEN/ Light Green

 - GREEN/ Red

If anyone could help me out with the rest, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

RKBPOS

Couple of questions.. according to your diagram, it doesn't state the + or - wiring colors for the speakers.  Can you list those?

Also, the door wiring doesn't match the wiring you have listed.  I know the back quad cab speakers are as follows

RR WHITE/ red tracer  WHITE/ black tracer

LR WHITE/ red tracer  WHITE/ black tracer (yes both sides are the same colors)

The rear is as follows:

RF lt blue/red tracer  lt blue with/black tracer

LF Lt GREEN/ red tracer Lt GREEN/ dark greentracer

Am I to assume that the red tracer is (+) and the black tracer (or dark green) is (-)?

Help!

hey next time Big blue....just look at the Speaker HArness on the Speaker...if you see an A or B...might have to unplug it...the A is positive and the B is negative...or you can pop the speakers to find out which is which.....just a litle hint for ya, nothign more...

Thanks for the 2002 Dakota info.  Seems to match up pretty close.  I tried looking for any type of marking, but there wasn't any.  What really threw me was that the "plug" had the positives on one side for the rear and the positives on the opposite side for the front.  i was afraid I had one or the other reversed, but it is nice to know I didn't.  Thanks for the help!

Oh yeah....and manufacturers for some reason do that...Like on GM's...the light colored wire is positive, and the dark negative on the front speakers, and on the rear it's opposite...( or is it the other way around???) anyhow...don't know why they do it, they just do, and it looks like Dodge has done it to...if you're ever in doubt man...cut the speaker  and harness off ( make sure you leve enough to splice it back together, for when you ditch teh vehicle ) and pop the speaker...easy way to find positive and negative...seems like more work, but better than waiting for one of us to respond sometimes...

Well goodluck, and if you're done Congrats...

Well, the strange things continue.  I went and did the speaker pop thing  since I cut off the harness and left it connected to the factory speakers.  I found out that if that is right, then either the factory hooked up the factory speakers backwards (the red on + made them pop inwards) or all the wiring we have been talking about is completely backwards.. I tested each speaker with the factory plug and wire colors attached, and EVERY SPEAKER popped opposite than it should have.  Now what???

So, I went back and reversed all the new speakers.  I now get a little less highs (it was almost earpearcing at time with no amp) and the bass is coming in stronger on all speakers... so  what do you guys think?  Do you think Dodge would honestly make every wire with a red tracer - and every wire with a dark tracer +?  Or do you think the factory speakers would just be wired wrong???

Would you think it would hurt the head unit if I have them backwards now?

Any suggestions would be appreciated..
