Ooops, nevermind... Found it on page 10 of the install guide. ( I was only looking at page 9 ).

because of the FACT, if you press the arm/disarm button while the alarm is sounding, the alarm will shut up, but remain armed, and also ignore the zone that had triggered it to ring. what you're experiencing is normal. if you wait until the ringing cycle is completed and you try to hit the car again, you should find that the shock sensor should still remain active.
