Just some things you should consider about an add on pager.
1. If given the choice in transmission band, Opt to use a FM vs AM. The signal will be more consistent reaching the hand held reciever and is less prone to RFI interference.
2. Locate the pager that has power output greater than 200 mWatts. Just so you know the the maximum power output is 4 watts, and is governed by the FCC.
3. An antenna of the appropiate length and mounting position is paramount in range, and consistantcy.
4. Do not use your OEM antenna as the mast to send the signal. If it is of the auto rise variety, then dont even bother. Half the signal will be lost, by the time it has raised up.
5. Power the unit with a regulated and consistant power source. Doing so will maximize the distance you will obtain from the pager.
6. Park your vehicle as close to windows and doors at all times.
7.Stay away from auto door openers or those that emmit radar fields to detect prescence. Such units introduce too much RFI and EMI to obtain paging range.
