I'm (still) installing my alarm and I've hit my latest snag...

I'm wanting to hook up a total of 6 sirens - 3 piezo's, 2 battery backups, and 1 regular siren (that came with the alarm).

The alarm is an Audiovox APS-996a.

Also, I don't think there's a way, but is it possible to hook it up so that only one siren chirps for arm/disarm, but they all sound when the alarm triggers?  Audiovox says that there's no way.

Thanks!!

Bill

i have 13 sirens on my truck so i feel im the right person to respond. As far as the chirp audiovox is wrong you can do it ... door triggers and ground etc 3 relays if you want to do it let me know ... as far as relays for multiple sirens you only need a relay if your going over 3 ... as follows pin 30 out to pos. siren pole87 12v constant batt. pole 85 ground pole 86 alarm trigger siren output ... you will only hear 1 chirp when you arm disarm but it will get louder with each additional siren .. i cant stand mine i have to be about 30 feet away or it gives me a headache

Yes, I would love it if you could post that info!!

Again, I'd like to have it setup so that only one siren chirps on arm/disarm, but all of them go when the arm is triggered.

I hate to ask this, but if you could be as clear an concise as possible, that would be great.  Also, don't assume that I know anything. :-)

This is my first install of ANYTHING in my car and the most basic of tasks are somewhat of a challenge for me.

Thanks a lot!!

the wire from your alarm "siren output" goes to pin 86 on your first relay. ground pin 85 . 12volts constant.. batt goes to pin 87. pin 87a is empty ... hook all your other sirens except for 1 up to pin 30... ok now i need to know what year/ make/model car you have ..what alarm and if you have a shock sensor thats not inside the alarm hopefully its seperate let me know
dont be a pet monkey ..use your dmm
