"The back of the 451M relay says: 3pin plug- green (-) lock input, red (+)pos input for coils, blue (-) unlock input. I know where this plug goes."
you stated that the red wire is (+), so then i assume that the other 87 pole is ground since the 451 has not receive ground yet. remember that the 451m is consist of 2 relays and i referred it to the diagram on this site.
i think someone here master this unit already, cause i dont.

I am almost done installing the 3.5 matrix in my 87 300E but I need help with 3 more things.

1) How do I hook up the 2 wires(L&R) for my park lights to the 1 light flash input? 1amp diodes?

2) I want to hook up this single zone clifford proximety sensor to my matrix 3.5. It has a  red,bk,and orange wire. Can I connect it to the blue wire that is not used on the factory shock sensor plug at alarm? Or how can I connect  this prox sensor?

3) Last, do I hook my trunk pin trigger to the blue multiplex input H1/6 ? The instructions don't say anything about connecting the trunk pin trigger to alarm, but the quick reference labels the multiplex input as trunk trigger input.

I'm almost finished and really appreciate all the help and advice. I'm soaking it all in

1)two 1amp diodes, band facing the parkin light wire(s).
2)the impact sensor has a dual stage. you can plug to either wire w/ a diode band facing the prox sensor, depending what you want, a warning stage or a full stage.
3)thats the one!!!!

Can I hook the proximety sensor up for warning and full stage?

Also, do I need to hook the factory disarm wire up to my 87 300E? The manual says to use relay. Do auto parts stores carry the correct relays? What kind of relay/s should I get? I will need a relay to hook anything extra to outputs too, right?

Thanks again. I am a beginner to alarms and am soaking all this in.

since your proximity is a single zone or stage, you can only pick one.
if you need to use a relay to what the specs expressed, then do so. you can get them at radio shack for ~3-5 bucks each.
you know where the diode goes, so i wont explain how to w/ the relay....

1) Use 6amp diodes bands towards the light switch, 1 amp will make nice flames and smoke.
2) single zone prox sensor cannot give you dual zone.
red to 12V, black to Orange ground when armed and the orange on the clifford to the blue multiplex wire.

The plug that exits the alarm module has a blue wire that is not connected to the impact sensor. Is that a multiplex wire that I can use too? Because if I hook the prox sensor to the blue multiplex wire H1/6(trunk input) won't the alarm confuse the 2 zones? Or does that not matter/apply?

I will attatch it to the trunk input then so I can see the trunk symbol as you stated.

For the relay that will disarm the factory security system, how many amps should it be? And is it even necessary to do this since my factory security system gets disarmed when the doors unlock?

Thanks again for all of your help. It's definitely not going in one ear and out the other87 300E, Clifford Matrix RS 3.5 - Page 2 -- posted image.
