I got a 93' 325i.   I installed a CLarion Deck with 2 Audiobahn Subs and 1 Kenwood 800 KAC series amp..

When ever i switch the tracks on the deck i hear a loud thump from the subs..  and at odd time during a song theres strange feedback comming out of the subs..  like its overpowering..    I have the Power wires running through the middle of my car and on the driver side the RCA's....     Subs wired correctly.  amp configured correctly..  deck configured correctly....

Any suggestions...??

1.  Ground the head unit to the car's chassis and not to the wiring harness.

2.  Check your amplifier ground and make sure it is on its own bolt directly to the car's chassis and has a bare-metal connection to the chassis.

3.  It also sounds like your amplifier input gain is too high (strange feednack.)

This happened to two friends of mine last week, both were totally different issues. One had a sh*tty ground (made his own hole but never took the paint off the surrpunding area), and the other had the cables conencted to his preamp rear speaker outputs as opposed to his subwoofer outputs. Try those.

a 1993 bmw 325i? the battery should be in the trunk, so your power wires really shouldn't be running down the middle of your car. of course, i'm assuming that your amp is in your trunk too. where are you getting power from? make sure your ground connection is solid and doesn't move at all. same goes for the power connection.
good luck!
