I am having a problem and was wondering if anyone else has run into this before. I am working on a 02 Focus with a power sunroof, and supposedly according to at least one tech I have talked to, there is a issue or a bulletin out about Ford vehicles describing this problem that I am having. I have found the standard color lock and unlock wires and they both check and work just fine...for awhile. Problem is that the factory switches "go to sleep" after 45 seconds to prevent someone from reaching in through the sunroof and unlocking the doors. Unfortunately for me, this also prevents my alarm from unlocking the doors as well. I havent found a way to "wake-up" the system yet and restore operation of the locks-other than using the factory keyless-entry remote. I am hoping that someone else has had a similar experience and can offer some insight. Thanks!

Yah the bcm goes asleep.... The only way I have found to do it is to split the remote starters unlock wire use 2 diodes and hook one up to the black yellow unlock wire in the car and the other to a relay to pulse the GREEN/ YELLOW ignition wire in the car.  also set the remote starter to do double pulse unlock.... hope this helps..

Thanks for the help everyone! Pulsing the door-trigger wire did not work for me although it has worked for me in other vehicles such as the ranger, ect... So I ended up pulsing the ignition wire for a second and it did the job and woke the GEM module back up and allowed the locks to work flawlessly. What a great forum this is!
Thanks again.
