I just purchased the Pioneer AVH-P6400CD the other day and I want to install it in my 99 Durango. Now this is the first time I've ever installed a monitor type HU so I want to know every thing that I can about how to hook this thing up. Things that I'm not too sure about are the parking brake wire and the reverse engage wire that comes with the unit. I've read on other post that I can just simply ground the parking brake wire and that will allow me to watch videos at any time. But what do I do about this reverse engage wire? Next, were are some good grounding spots at on the 99 Durango? I usually just ground my HU to the chassie of the HU, but I notice when I do that the unit are very hot, so I don't want to try that with this pioneer cause it cost me alot and I don't want to fry it. And finally, I know that this unit doesn't come with a built in DVD so I was looking for a stand alone DVD/CD/MP3 player that I can install under the front passenger seat. I don't want to spend no more than $130 for it. Anyone got any ideals?

You can just wire the park brake wire to ground, The reverse wire you dont need unless you have the reversing camera, any good body or chassis ground away from the exhaust area will work ok.We get some good stand alone dvd players over here cheap, so you probably can get them even cheaper over there.

pioneer makes an add on cd/dvd player, SDV-P7, but I think it is more than you want to spend.  But it plugs right into your head unit, simple to install.

There are actually two DVD units that I'm looking at over at sounddomain.com. One it a Blaupunkt and the other is a Audiovox. Here are the links:

both are $109.99. Out of these two which one would you pick
