well 2 fast 2 furious lets slow things down for a minute. im gonna run you through the install. go to a wal-mart or a stero shop and get a stereo wiring harness for your car, then you take the plug you got with the stero and match the wires with the one you bought then when you put your stereo in the plug you bought will snap on to your cars factory plug.
yup

i bought the harness and all that stuff.  i know what i'm doing when it comes to this stuff(or so i thought) i have done it at least 6 times before.  the problem is the wires come from the car to a wierd ass harness.  from there the wires were connected to the wires from an aftermarket harness.  i cut all the wires(all the ones coming from the car into the wierd harness n the ones going to the aftermarket harness.)  its the most confusing setup i have ever seen.  i still have no clue what to do.

Rob,

I don't think that Pontiac used a Bose system, but I may stand corrected, you have got my head running now. So please enlighten me.

As for the Bose system, I think I speak for the vast majority on this site, their setup is an installer's nightmare, and a very poorly designed setup. Most of us have dumpsters that spit it back out at you when you throw it in there.
