I've had this superb head unit in my truck for 2 weeks now, and although I love it, I can't get the stupid "Demo Mode" off of the left part of the display!
It's driving me nuts.
The instructions say, (get this) to "Hold down button [5] while pressing reset. Well, the whole thing reboots, I lose my settings, and the demo mode pops right back up again.
This sucks, help!

I have the X579, and to turn off demo mode on it, I went into the menu under display, and if it is set to Display C, that is demo mode, A is the normal, and B is the silent display. Good luck!

After pressing the reset button, wait for the display on the deck to illuminate again.

after holding preset 5 down and pressing reset, you need to continue holding preset 5 until the deck powers all the way back up again.

Too stoned to run outside now, I'll do it on the morning.
If it works, I owe you something.

Audiokid,
you are god. The instruction manuals are too often written by assuming individuals.
Thanks so much.
