I am wondering whether it is ok to connect 4 speakers to the speaker out puts of the head unit and also use preouts connected to amps so that i can run further speakers. Thanks in advance

Read your manual...
I know my Alpine (CDA-9831) Head unit can do it, but i can't speak for others...
You probably can, since the output of the pre-amps is very small, i don't think it would affect the HU adversely.
BUT, before you start splicing cables, wait to see what other people say...

Good advice above: READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL!  What kind of head unit is it (make/model)?

sure you can...the powered output stages and the preout stages are distinctly different circuits...using or not using one has no effect on the other....

It is a Kenwood KRC-579R. It's got two sets of RCA preouts. I checked tha manual but does not tell anything about running both speaker outputs and RCA outputs of the HU.

I was thinking about what kgerry said, but still waiting to here more opinions, before i connect it. Thanks guys.

You'll never need another opinion after kgerry when it comes to technical information. :)
