I have recently purchased 98 lexus es 300 and my cd changer dont work it gives me error 2 or sometimes error 3 if anybody knows how to fix please email me at aleksandrkuznetsov@yahoo.com

In the owners manual (page 115) it states that if a CD is inserted upside down, Err will be displayed along with the CD number.

So you might just have a CD flipped, but it may be a CD-R that you burned and the changer can't read it.

Also, if it gets really hot in the car, the changer will stop working for a couple of minutes.

www.carstereohelp.com might be able to fix it for you, or you could pay a fortune for the dealership to replace it. Here is Lexus' repair page on carstereohelp.com. If you don't have the premium sound system then you could get better sound by upgrading to an aftermarket cd player and cd changer (usually the premium nakamichi systems arn't that easy to bypass if you buy a new cd player and changer).

I put cd upside down but what I get is error2 or sometimes error3

hello sasha, the error 2 and error 3 code means the laser has gone out. which can happen after 6 years. rather than repair i would recommend to buy a new one part number 86270-33040 in the factory box for 250.00 exchange. that would be better than fixing the old one as in a few months something else may break. exchange means after after receiving the new one put the broken one in the same packing and return it.
