Hi, db.  Click on the icon 3rd from the right in the tool bar over top the reply box (Image Upload).  It will give you a dialog box and you use browse to find the pic files on your hard drive.  If they are real large files, first change them to .jpg format, and make sure the file name has the file type in the title, like "pic of me.jpg".  30 kb is not that big.  You might have the option on your computer to save a pic file as a "Web-ready image", if you are using Windows XP.  It will provide a pic that is not too big and will fit the page.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

30k is a very small file, considering some pics can get upto 8Megs or more. If your files are larger, just reduce the res on them so you can upload easily and not clog your internet connection pipeline. Follow stevdart's upload instructions for uploading. Assuming you're on a DSL or some sort of a highspeed "broadband" connection, your uploads should be a zap or a zip. (no pun intended)

Where will the pics be when they are uploaded?  Will they be here in this thread or in another area of the site?

If they're uploaded via the tool buttons over the message's box, they'll be viewable on this thread, however they seem to be uploaded to a general area on this host, where all the pics go, with their individual names. Of course you can see any pic by entering its URL directly on a browser as well (unless a script redirects the browser to another 'hidden' area). The link will be only on this thread since the users type it in themselves and is part of a post.

Just find a photo host like photobucket.com and just use the add image and link it to the host.
