I was looking to see what kinds of speakers i can put in place of the bose. There aint much. They look like 4" but im not sure. Does anyone or has anyone replaced these speakers with maybe a 5.25? or 6.5? Im sure it would require some trimming or cutting.  Maybe someone made an after market kit. Please Help!!!

Shallow mount 6.5's will fit, like the JBL Power series with ~1.75" mounting depth.

I'm not sure what year you 300zx is, but I can fit 6.5's all the way around. I had 5.25's stock in the doors and 6.5's on the rear wheel wells.

I think that 6.5's were too deep but the OEM cut fit perfectly. My Infinity Kappa 5.25's fit with the greatest of ease. But then again, we are also driving differene body styles which could mean, different perameters. But at least we are discussing the best cars on the road (in my opinion).
