Im having some trouble getting my amp to ground right now for some weird reason, u can move the ground to make it ground and it does for a few seconds then looses ground ive tried everything and dif places its just wont stay grounded..anyone help me please..Thank!

Are you measuring continuity from the ground terminal to the chassis to find this conclusion that it is losing its ground? If so, what are the readings, good ground, then bad ground? And, have you been running this amp for some time and the problem just all of the sudden developed? Is the power wire continuously connected to the amp and battery during the bad grounding?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

are you grounding to body? is the screw loose?

is the paint scraped off where the wire will be touching?

It is better to remain queit and have others think u are dumb, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

what happened was i accidently unplugged one of subs wires and i tried to put the ground on better and now it wont ground it ground for a few seconds and looses power and ive moved it to dif places it was orig on a screw in the trunk and worked fine but now it will go off and on, im confused...thanks guys.....more suggestions welcomed!

Its hard to tell what exactly you mean. But for a good ground just drill a hole somewhere inconspicuous in the chassis (not overhead cross members), scrap or sand all the paint off in that spot and get to good bare metal for best contact, put a ring terminal on the end of your ground wire, then use a metal screw with a washer and put it in the hole you drilled. Voila.

You might have a problem at the amp where it accepts the other side of the ground wire?

Check your power wire for good clean connections at the battery as well.

What you got were questions...that need answers if anyone has a shot at helping you out with this problem. Would you read our posts and answer them, please?

Be sure to disconnect power to the amp. Use an ohm meter and test continuity of the ground, once you have it connected. It stays good? Grounding is not the issue. It is bad? Use another ground wire, and try again. Have a spade terminal crimped securely to the ground cable. But by all means do not allow the power to be connected to the amp when there is no ground.
