just installed pioneer's avh-7500 dvd into a 2001 lexus IS300. i put the hideaway tuner under the front passenger seat. in order to this, i first disconnected the negative battery terminal, THEN i unplugged the airbag for the seat. made all necessary connections for the pioneer tuner, (NEVER did i turn the key forward, either), plugged in the airbag conncetor to the seat. put negative terminal back on the battery.  powered up and all was good to go .........................with the exception of the airbag flashing. the airbag had a constant, steady single flash. ( just like my cursor!lexus IS 300/2001/ airbag reset? -- posted image.) other than taking the car to the dealership to have it reset, is there any other way to reset it ? i've heard of some cars resetting with just the turn of the ignition switch, pressing the brake/gas pedals in sequential order...................thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas. (oh yeah, i don't have a scanner ,either.) this place doesn't pay enough for me to make that kind of purchase.
do it right the first time....less warranty work=more money!:)

It has happened to me a couple of times, some cars you can disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, and it cleared the code.

But I had a 2003 maxima.....I Installed a remote starter on it....and I also realized that the air bag was flashing, I think It was my testlight that activated it. But my customer went to the dealer, they charged him like 10 dollars, they plugged the computer to his car and cleared the code.

But when you do go to the dealer....You make sure you explain what you did to activate it....cause they will automatically think you blew some computer on your car and try to hit you with a crazy bill.

Take care

Slicksam
