Is it at all possible to ad a remote start to a factory alarm without using 2 different remotes? I have an '03 PT Cruiser and would like to ad remote start to the factory alarm. Range is not a big deal. If so how will I do it and program the remote? Thanks for the help.

yes its possible, a lots of companies out there make 'em.
just install remote start like normal but ur RS input trigger would be ur door lock/unlock (either one). so no need to program the remote.
dont forget to diode isolate the trigger input wire w/ the lock wire.

Do you know what wires I need to tie into on the alarm to make this work? Why do I have to mess around with the door locks/triggers if all I am doing is remote start the factory alarm alread has door lock/unlock.

Hey, I just recently bought the galaxy 5000 rs2w, and I am installing it into a 1997 ford thunderbird, with factory keyless entry. I found out that my car has negative switching door locks, so I hooked it up to the pink wires on the driver side of the car like the wiring diagram told me to do, the problem I am having though is the door lokcs don’t seem to stop running. They make a constant weird noise until I unplug the alarm. It worked fine when I first hooked it up, then I don’t know what happened. Now when I arm and disarm the system it doesn’t work my locks, and I tried “resetting” the memory, that didn’t help, it only does it if I hit lock or unlock on the door, not the alarm, the alarm doesn’t affect my locks at all. Exept when I plug it up, then It pops them both unlocked no problem. Any information would help, thank you. If you need any more info from me please email. Thanks.    Chris      sandsport250@hotmail.com
