has anyone attempted to use the stereo steering wheel controls found on some cars to operate an aftermarket deck?  i'm wondering if anyone has had any success.  my friend can control volume, track skip, etc on his steering wheel on a 92 acura legend, and he wants to know if there's a way to make that work on an aftermarket deck.

ditto that.... yes it can be done assuming the aftermarket HU you are installing comes with a remote control... but the adapters are between 200 and 300 bucks, so you really have to want that feature to be willing to pay that....

actually, i've just been surfing the net, and found that PAC makes a few cheaper ones.  the PAC SWI-X is only $70 USD.

unfortunately we buy from authorized Canadian distributors and often our Dealer cost here is more than what things retail for down there.... keep in mind you'll pay the difference in the dollar, shipping, brokerage and possibly duty to bring it in from the states.....

as i said, yes it can be done as long as you are willing to put a price tag on that feature....
