I'm trying to get this alarm installed on a friends car although the instructions aren't to helpful. I've been told that a dealer needs to install it but my friend doesn't trust anyone since he has had the situation before that the alarm was disabled and later found out it was because the installer of the original alarm broke into the car.

anyways the situation is this he doesn't want the remote start on the vehicle all he wants is the alarm functionality. there are two units the relay satellite and the wires from the main brain which both appear to lead to the same wires ie. ignition, 12v constant etc.. i'm trying to understand if i need to connect wires from both to the same location...they are both different gauges so i'm not understanding what the reason/purpose is for having two wires to connect to the same location.

Any help with this install would be great. thanks in advance.

tell him to return it and buy the 2.5 which is the exact same thing without any of the RS features, it's quicker to install.... and uses the exact same responder remote

the smaller gauge wire tells the alarm when the key is in the ignition and resets the alarm if it has gone off during arming period. the larger gauge wire supplies power to the ign wire during rs.
