I built 2 wedge boxes that held 2 subs each. 1 box on the right side and 1 on the left. the amp in the middle behind the center consol. You will have to lose the shelves on the back panel. in fact just lose the panel. you will have room. you can't use real deep subs. I used MSX audio classic 12's a pound of poly fill. each chamber was 1cf. and your subs must be all the way at the bottom of your box. http://msxaudio.com

My point was, the displacement of say an 18" is more than that of 3 10"s.

the point is it would be a real pain to install a single 18 in a reg cab 01' ram pick up. you could  get the air space, but you could not mount the amp behind the seat. I know you can mount under the seat, but they don't cool the way they should.

also if i were to go bigger than 10's like 12s or 15's i was gonna go with audiobahns new piston compression subs...slim desighn....12's with only a 4" mounting depth... also...having the sub bottomed out at the bottom of the box....did it change or distort to sound or performance?  not being centered in the box

Does this box answer your question?

Here is the finish product. I think i've seen one with (12) 12 inches. These are only 10's
