I have used that amp with a different single 10" dual voice coil sub. It ran 2 ohm mono no problem. But correct me if Im wrong, isnt that sub dual 6 ohm voice coil, if so than you are just gonna run at 3 ohm mono which most amps made today can handle.

ive tried that and looks like the speaker is going to pop out and loud banging noise like that way the amp moves it more at lower volume but when you turn it up looks like speaker cant hold the power

Chicomax,

You are putting well over 500 watts rms into that sub.  I remember that amp it was well underatted but can't remember the output.

It looks like everyone is pulling out their old equipment.  I will have to look for my old books next time I am at my parents.

I gotta quick question.

the 2200gtx amp specs are:

Key Features:

  • 200 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
  • 250 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
  • 500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
  • stereo or bridged mono output
  • Tri-way capable ( Tri-Way Crossover required)
  • requires 4-gauge power and ground leads — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
  • MOSFET power and output stages
  • preamp- and speaker-level inputs
  • preamp outputs
  • gold-plated connectors
  • variable low-pass crossover (50-300 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
  • variable bass boost (0-10 dB at 40 Hz)
  • 15-3/4"W x 2-3/16"H x 10-7/8"D
  • warranty: 1 year

Just out of curiousity. If you wanted to wire the amp to TWO DVC's Subs

and bridge it MONO output . It should hit 500 Watts RMS x 1 @ 4ohms right?
If so would it be wired up as option 2 correct? Just wanted to know if i was looking at this perspective correctly.
Is it possible to run that 2200gtx under option 1?

What the hell is this used for?

Can anyone explain what this this little module does?orion xtr 2150 - Page 2 -- posted image.

If my researching is correct:

*" The PAC TM-100 Tri-Way crossover allows you to power a pair of stereo speakers and a subwoofer simultaneously from a Tri-Way compatible 2-channel amp. It's a cost-effective way to drive a subwoofer.

The TM-100 has input and output wires that you connect to your amp's speaker outputs and to the wires leading to your speakers. A 12 dB/octave low-pass filter sends frequencies below 100 Hz to your subwoofer. A 6 dB/octave high-pass filter sends frequencies above 100 Hz to your main speakers. Handles 250 watts RMS per channel. 4-3/4"W x 2-1/16"H x 3-13/16"D. 1-year warranty.

Important Note: A Tri-Mode or Tri-Way compatible amplifier is required."*

This module will allow a Tri-Way amp, To not only power subs but also speakers such as 6x9's.
Was wondering, by adding this tri crossover, will any power be lost from the subs, vis-versa?

Your amp puts out

2 X 150 @ 4ohm

2 X 300 @ 2 Ohm

and 1 X 600 @ 4Ohms

Well, if you tried wiring the way I said and it seemed to be too much power for the driver then the only other way to do it practically is to wire it in 6 ohm stereo, that is one voice coil to channel one and the second voice coil to channel two but I know that it should have worked fine the other way so I would guess there is some other little demon at work in your system.
