Without having the vehicle present to test, I'm short on ideas. Try duplicating the condition where the door locks won't move, but make noise. Reach inside the vehicle and open a door manually. Then try the remote unlock. If it works then something may be wrong either with the GEM module or it isn't fully waking up for some reason. Keep trying and post your results.

we've ran into this too. it's not the GEM falling asleep you are talking about. you're saying that you are testing the locks and within 5 minutes the just quit. 10-20 minutes later they work fine though right. it was mentioned earlier, apparently just cheap actuators or of the sort. they heat up and quit working until they cool down. the locks aren't intended to be locked/unlocked several times back to back to back to back to... you get the point. after leaving the shop though, we never had anyone return them with problems. we just figured imported parts bolted on in america.

thats pretty much exactly what was happening, Whats funny is I have a 99 Explorer and my Drivers door lock is starting to act up myself. I have a Clifford rs3.5 in there that I put in and has never given me any problems. I think I'm going to put 4 new actuators in there and see what happens. thanks for the help.
