I just wanted to get some feedback. I have now successfully installed my third alarm thanks to 12volt.com members. However, I have a general question, can I determine the brain location prior to seeing the car. I would like to prewire the wire harness prior to installation. I think this can save me install some time. Currently I am averaging 3 hours per install(not the first one).

What I do is prep the brain..get in the car and see where everything is going...and then tape things that are going to the same spot together. Seems to work great for me.

there are a few good reasons to pre-wire on the bench it will make for a cleaner install if done right. kinda going with what teamrf said, i look at my tech sheet and see if p-lights, door trigger, brake wire doorlocks, what ever it may be are in the kick panel for instance the i tape all the way down with the according wire's. it make for a easier install i think, and cleaner like i said, for a typicall car for like a 560xv(remote start+alarm) im down to about 1 - 2 hours it depends on my mood. but it works.

zip ties is what i use. i typically tie it to a main harness off to the side or way up top. somewhere out of the way and hidden but easy enopugh to get at if you need it.

I use zip ties. And EVERY installer in the bay that I work for hides the brain so if you do the car most of the time you have to pull the brain if something goes bad with it.
