It can be done, but must be reset or taken to the dealer to be reset. You cannot alter the "staggered offset". This comes from my brother, an assistant manager at discount tire. I see dealerships doing this all of the time.

I thought the pressure monitoring system was built into the stems ? Just replace the OEM stems with the aftermarket rims and your set ? Is this not true ?

Can't see how else they monitor the system unless it's done with a gyro ( which I highly doubt ).

me either but well find out soon. but im gonna go with you that its in the tire steam, but the only thing i thought of is everytyime i change the rims for the season. they have to take the tires and rims apart and switch them to the stock ones each time.
that sucks, i wonder if i can buy another set of pressure sensors for the new rims??

hi i thought that the pressure monitors used the abs sensors to monitor wheel speed when a tire is low the wheel will turn at a different speed causing low pressure lightg to come on

good luck
