IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO GRAB THE:

LT BLUE = LOCK / WHITE = UNLOCK IN THE BOOT OF THE DOORS.

IT IS MUCH EASIER TO GRAB AT THE RELAYS. STICK YOUR HEAD UNDER THE DASH. IF YOU LOOK TO THE RIGHT OF THE STEERING COLUMN KIND OF NEAR THE FIREWALL (ABOUT 6 INCHES FROM FIREWALL) YOU CAN SEE A GROUP OF WIRES TAPED UP AND YOU WILL FIND THE WIRES RIGHT THERE. ITS STILL GOING TO BE THE SAME COLORS...IN THE GROUP OF WIRES THAT GOES TO THE RELAY, YOU WILL FIND A LT. BLUE, TAN, GRAY, TAN, AND WHITE WIRE.

THE TAN AND GRAY ARE MOTOR WIRES. YOU WILL WANT TO TAP THE LT.BLU AND WHITE WIRE. ITS NOTICEABLY SMALLER THEN THE GRAY AND TAN WIRES.

I want to warn abpcipmvp  about the BCM. If you are installing wires into this unit you will have to be very careful ( just like anything else ) but if you surge or spark a wire you will damage parts of the BCM that control certain functions and everything else will work except that part that you damaged.

Well ......... Dodge decided back in 1997 that you can not buy a used BCM in place of the damaged one, you have to buy new !! The reason being is that they have to program the new BCM with the information from the old one ( odometer reading, fuel mileage, driving habits, etc... ) and they said that you can't do that with one that already has been previously programed. New BCM's can run you $ 500 + installation and programming. Just a warning for you to watch out and be careful when fooling around with this unit and any other computer controlling unit for that matter !

Steve,

Let me make sure I understand.  You are saying that I don't have to mess with the BCM at all for keyless entry.  I would go directly to the relays.   according to info I have gotten on a chrysler 1 wire system, I would connect a 5.3K ohm resistor to the Lt Blue Lock (at the relay) and the 2K ohm resistor to the WHITE unlock (also at the relay).

hello

I am only going to say that with the chrysler 1 wire locking system you need to use a negative trigger and you attach a 5.2ohm resistor(5.3will work its close enough) and a 2k ohm resistor for lock and unlock you attach both to the violet/green wire which is pin 21 of the 3rd plug on the bcm ..note if you have a factory alarm you can use the violet/blue which is pin 14 of the 3rd plug of the bcm if you use this you will need a double pulse to unlock..

i hope this helps

Audiopro

I just want to make sure on the resistor values.  In your response you mentioned a 5.2 ohm not a 5.2Kohm.  Do I understand this correctly.

thanks,
