What are speaker horns, I hear they make speakers very loud, but thats all I know. I was wondering becasue I have a 91 Cavalier and I only have 3 1/2" speakers up front, and my bass is overwhelming the lyrics, Im buying a new set of speakers for up front, probably Blaupunkts. But will they be loud enough for me to hear the lyrics loud over the bass? Or should I look into these speaker horns?

speaker horns are louder when done correctly, they have a different sound, Image Dynamics probably is the most famous one, they work great. I had a '91 sunbird, and had to add 6 1/2s to the doors to make it sound decent

Are speaker horns a speaker, or are they something that needs to be added to a speaker? How did you put the speakers in the doors? I heard that it was difficult to becasue they would interfere with opening and closing the windows.

you can use a regular amp for them, they are nice speakers, but I would suggest trying to hear them in person before purchasing them I'm not a fan of the sound of horns (klipsh home speakers use horns so oyu can get a rough idea of sound)
