i got a viper 560xv in a 2004 dodge ram 1500 and ALL the lights flash instead of just the parking lights.
i know for a fact that the white wire is spliced directly into the light switch wire with no resistor. an installer tried to get it to work with a resistor and when he grounded the wire directly to the chassis, the parking lights would come on just as expected. when he tried to use the white wire with the resistor, all the lights would flash again. what's up with that?
he also tried to use a relay off the white wire to ground the parking light wire like he did by hand, but he said the white wire didn't have enough current to close a relay?!?! is that possible or is he on crack.
i'm gonna try this myself, but i need to know what value resistor to use. is it 330?
thanks

Your truck has a seperate wire for each parking light.  Here's the facts:

Parking Lights+ wht/yel (L), wht/gray (R)  +  harness at top of driver fender
Parking Lights- WHITE/ lt. green  -  headlight switch
Notes: Parking lights are negative trigger thru a 249 or 330 ohm resistor. MUST use a relay.

you can use either the (+) or (-).

Do it right the first time

I use the WHITE/ grey under the dash, flashes all 4 corners.
I do dealership work for chrysler, been working on these trucks since they came out. All you need the WHITE/ grey In harness at the interior firewall in the driver kick panel

Shaughn, do i use a resistor with that WHITE/ grey wire? ...and does that wire take a (+) or (-) park flash output from the alarm?

I've done tons of installs on these and all software says 330 ohm, use a 560 ohm resister and that'll get just parking lights. guaranteed.

Yep, run it from the white wire with the resistor in line.

NO, this wire is the POSITIVE 12V parklight wire, no resistors, no relays. Make sure the alarms(or starter)s parklight output is set to POSITIVE

ok i got a few different answers here so let me make sure i'm not getting them confused.
option 1: use WHITE/ lt. grn wire off headlight switch with a 560 ohm resistor and a negative trigger from the alarm
option 2: use WHITE/ grey wire near steering column with no resistor and a positive trigger from the alarm
is that right?
