My unit came with (2) LCD transmitters and no standard remotes as the instructions listed.  In the instructions, under the sensor adjustment, it states that I need to press the "shift button" 3 times...  I have tried the valet and all of the buttons on the LCD remote.  It wont respond like the instructions say...  It is not a big issue, but I am curious if there is a function on the standard remote that is not on the LCD ones...

I also have a condition that I call "tinkeritis"...  I just gotta play with everything.  Should I invest in the software and cord for programming?  I am installing alarms in several cars...

Button #5 is the Backlight button. It is for Programing and Backlight. I have not seen the Manual for a long time but I think it is on page 8. It shows a picture of the RF LCD remote and below that is shows the fuction of the LCD and what it means. That is for the FM-5005 I am sure it is Page 8. Hope this helps.

Thanks for responding, but I have tried all of the buttons on the LCD remote.  The manual doesnt show that button as being for the 'shift' function either.  It does show it for the regular remote, however...
