I can't really turn my enclosure around to see if it sounds better facing rearward, but is it really going to make much difference? I have a wall in front of subs( the back seat) so isn't that going to cause the sound waves to bounce like someone earlier said is correct?

I am going to build my enclosure today and it has to have an angle on front to work with my hinge/actuator motor system that lifts the rear of my enclosure for spare tire access. So if I build it with the angle on the wrong side, I won't be able to just turn it around.

And I really like the amp rack setup I have now with the subs facing forward and easy access to my amps for adjustment or to fix something.

HELP! PLEASE! If it only ,makes a 10-20% improvement then I will stay with subs facing front.

I' ve installed subs both ways. I think that the subs sound better facing out. Some or most cars have that thick plastic in the back seat that stop your sound from flowing in your car. You can either rip the sh*t out or cut a big hole in the center. I ripped that plastic out of my girlfriend's car faced the subs out and put some dynomate that improved the bass now it hits harder then before. You aslo want to  have your subs wired up right to get the best bass out of them subs.

I had my subs facing forward in my car initially. I turned them around so they faced the back of the trunk, HUGE improvment. When they face backwards it gives the sound waves something to bounce off of.

I built it today with the subs facing rear. Looks good so far. I'll carpet it tomorrow. I have to design a new amp rack, but that will be fun. I'm going to make it a multi layer display of the three amps and either a big batcap or second SP stinger battery instead and or parallel with VooDoo Cap(the VooDoo does work excellent BTW)

I played with the phase switch in my head unit today and noticed that I did sound different with my front facing setup. Kind of better. I always thought the phase switch reverse was for dummies who hooked the subs up backward, or something.

aggie sent me that article a while back when I inquired about how his setup sounded. That article cleared all sorts of myths up about which way sub sound better and why. Good post up aggie!

whoa... i go out drinking with my friends, get home and come across this at 3 am, hahaha. No problem guys, it's all about sharing here. MBZ and xtreamcc, tell me if you like how your sub setups sound, cause I sure as hell like mine. I feel that I am getting the most out of my subs, way better than my old setup.
