I'm trying to decide whether to go with Alpine type-s compents or a comparable infinity system, like some kappas or perfects. Does ne one have ne experience or suggestions ?

I don't have any experience with the Type S components. But I do own a set of Type X 6.5" components and they are absolutely amazing. Just make sure with any component set to never use the deck to power them.

I personally prefere the Infinity Componets to the Alpine but the are also a fairly bright speaker so if you dont like that then I wouldnt suggest them. As always, your best bet is to go to a store and listen to them. If you cant, see if a friend has a set in his car or if he knows anyone who does. If not, stand on the side of the road with a sign like a hitchhiker that says "CAN I HEAR YOUR SPEAKERS". If your lucky someone will stop with a set you like.
