I carefully removed the carpet from the doors of my Nissan Altima, traced the shape on to a piece of 1/8 inch wood paneling and cut it to exact shape.  Next I wrapped the wood in white vinyl and used 3M Super 77b spray glue to attach it.  The space where the carpet was is sunken in about 1/4 in, I thought the new panel would be easy to attach since it fits snugly in the space, wrong.  I can't seem to get the corners to lay flush.  I used the super 77 to attach the panels, is there a better way?  I thought about applying some epoxy glue and using small clamps to hold it firmly while the epoxy cures.  Any suggestions guys???

Upholstery shops use a spray-on contact cement. Epoxy could work, but you'll get uneven adhesion with clamps. Best to vacuum bag it if you want to go that route.

Did you try cutting small slits on the corners just beyond view ? cause that seems to work pretty well.

The best way it to use Selectproducts'

ADH6302

$62.06
HEAT ACTIVATED ADHESIVE (PLASTICS)1GAL

that way you can lay on the vinyl and then use a heat gun to activate the glue, and then stretch it to remove wrincles.

damn that's expensive. anything cheaper? i tried the 3m 90 adhesive, it didn't work well on the areas where the vinyl had to strech. Any better way?

well thats 1 gallon of it, I think they make smaller sizes. check out www.selectproducts.com ...It may be expensive, hopefully you can find it in a smaller amount, but it's the best, and I have used it quite a bit

3M 1357 it is green contact cement. you can get it in a quart. it can be applied with a brush also. i spray it from a gun with a 1.8mm tip, but it if you let it tack up for about 10 minutes then lay the vinyl on the wood. then smooth it out with your hand. wrap it aroung the edges. it will not come off, even if you want it to.
