Hello to all,

I am contenplating a door speaker upgrade as well as the kickpanels. At first I was just going to do the CDT ES line 5.25" & tweet in kicks. I have been waiting for over a month for the Q-Forms but have the speakers sitting in a box and was thinking maybe it would be best to go ahead and add the slightly oversized 6-5" door speaker as well.

Anybody here done a 2-3/4" deep speaker in a newer Accord with 3/4" mdf baffle? Will it work? Any pics? Any comments?

Currently:

Alpine 7983, JL500/1 w10w7, JL300/4 bridged to front setup with 6.5" pioneers in doors. Waiting to be installed are the CDT ES520 with upstage tweeter kit and L-pad.

Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge around here :>)

Mike

As you may know,  in the doors, when you pull the panels of there is already a spacer on there, which if memory serves me correctly, its close to 2", so if you use a 3/4 MDF ring, you should have an ample amount of space to mount your CDT's, I would personally make an effort to get the orininal spacer sealed to the door a little better though.
