I recently completed a couple fiberglass sub boxes,(have pics but need batteries so i can post) and now that I have em all wired up and pounding hard, my amp is over heating. I have some left over fiberglass, and was thinking of creating a nice rack to cool it. Now, i dont think im confused, but If i make the rack like a sub box(airtight) and make a fan that blows the air out, will it not act like a vacuum to suck the heat away from the amp? (That is considering i have a second hole under the amp.)

And for a second question, how does one go about hookin up the fan? Is it just a straight run through with the 12v turn on, or perhaps there is a different wiring scheme for that sh*t.???

to wire the fan i'd use a relay thats connected to your amp turn on wire from the deck

and if you built the rack so that air would flow over the amp, then it should stay cool!! air in one side..over the amp...out the other side, thats how i was planning on doin it!

I would do it with two fans. One on either side, blowing lengthwise across the amp. Wire them in a push pull form. One for force air into the cavity, other to pull the air out along with the heat.
