Hi Everyone.

Can anyone remember the Clifford Audible status indicator??

It used to beep when the alrm was armed every 10 - 15 seconds or so.

I have tried for ages to be able to get a new one, any ideas where i can get one from, I dont think that Clifford do them anymore.

Would someone be able to tell me how to make one??

Cheers Guys

You can simply purchase a solid state buzzer. One of the many used ones in many fields of hobby electronics is made by Mode Electronics.
The unit operates from 8-16 VDC. Comes with 100 mm leads, and outputs 85 dB at 2KHz.
Going price is aprox. $2.25 USD The part number is 61-212-1
You may find this or similar item at any on-line electronics store front.

The unit will sound continously if powered from a DC source. If you wish it to beep intermittently, you may install a simple automotive #552 flasher module.
This will make it beep on and off. Please note that this beeper resonates at a very high frequency, and thus the sound will carry alot farther.
This should be kept in mind, assuming your friends and neighbor(s) dont mind. :-)

If you've ever worked on very many GM ptroducts, there is another excellent source for the buzzer.  The little black INVOTRONICS box that you yank out from under the dash so you dont have to listen to the "key-in, door-open" noise has a buzzer inside of it.  If you open up a newr on, it will usually have printed on the circuit bord what each terminal goes to.  if not, drop me a line, and I'll shoot you a diagram of the terminals.  Just hookup power & ground, then get a flasher like Teken said and make ytourslef a flashing negative output from alarm, and hook up to KEY terminal of the black box and WALLAH! freakin noise maker.  If you really want it to be a PITA for others, mount it insider of the doorsomewhere where it wont get wet, but be very close to the exterior of the vehicle.  Hope this pisses your neighbors off!
If it don't fit, Force it.
If it breaks, You needed a new one anyway!
