hi, i have a BMW 1983 528i sedan

i am planning on putting the old setup from my car into this new car, it consists of 2 15" fusion subwoofers and an amplifier to power them.

basically, the back seat has sound deadening underneath and behind it all around.. will this effect the sound coming from the boot?

would i be best of facing the subwoofers towards the boot or towards the cabin?

and i do not wish to get rid of this sound deadener if possible.

thanks in advance.

I think the sound deadener will only enhance the quality of the bass, but not attenuate it to any noticable level. Typically, bass can penetrate pretty much anything. I'm no acoustics expert, I'm only speaking from experience.

As far as position, I've always found that placing the subs right up against the seat facing backwards, usually sounds best. If you can find something to line the rear trunk area with such as Dynomat....or several cheaper alternatives...that is even better for your sound. Good luck!
