Car Alarm & Remote Start Top Ten

Well, having installed the Ultrastart, and many many Vipers, along with the Compustar and the Crimestopper, here's my $0.02 before GST:

1) The Viper is a DEI piece.  Directed has been at it for a long time, they know their stuff, and make a reliable product.  Lifetime warranty when installed by an authorized dealer.    My vote would be for the Viper.

2)Ultra/Prime/OneStart (all the same)  Used to think they were decent, however, the remotes eat batteries like crazy, and have had waay to many issues with the modules themselves.  Ultra isn't a bad product, but I am not missing them at all.

3)Compustar........ not a big fan, module is huge by today's standards, programming sucks, the non-2way companion remote is a POS

4)Crimestopper..... not a bad product... love the Remote, feels nice in a VW rubberized plastic sort of way. 

Bang for the buck and long term support, my money is on the 791XV.  It works.  I don't see any coming back with annoying problems. (The Ultra stuff tends to get into valet mode rather too easily for my liking)
